Most wheel and tire listings say “4 winter tires on rims, great shape” and then spend a day answering the same questions: which car, what size, how old, how much tread, what bolt pattern. Every one of those answers is printed on the tire or the rim. Fill them in below: the tire spins to show where each one is, and your listing writes itself as you go.

Why the bolt pattern matters more than the car

“Rims from a Ford Fiesta only helps people who own a Ford Fiesta. The bolt pattern (like 4x108) is what decides fit, and dozens of models share the common ones. With it in your listing, anyone can check whether your rims fit their car. Offset and centre bore narrow it down further, and they’re stamped on the back of a spoke.

Age and tread set the price

Buyers price used tires on two numbers: how much tread is left and how old the rubber is. A set with 80% tread made two years ago is worth several times one with 30% left made eight years ago, even from the same brand. Put both numbers in the title; vague listings get lowball offers because buyers assume the worst.

Photos that close the sale

Take one photo of the whole set, one close-up of the size on the sidewall, one of the DOT date, and one of a tread depth gauge in a groove. Those four photos answer the questions that otherwise stall a sale, and they show you have nothing to hide.

Timing

Winter sets sell fastest from September to November, when the first cold snap sends everyone looking. Summer and all-season sets do best in March and April. A set listed in the off-season often sits until the next one.
